Durham Guild of Spinners, Weavers & Dyers 'away day' started at Farfield Mill in the morning and then to the farm in the afternoon. What a fantastic day we had. Robin & Caroline, were so enthusiastic, informative and fun to be with. Being textile mad we were in seventh heaven, with all the fabulous fibres and yarn. The range of colours is amazing and the quality of the fibre superb. This was followed by a truly amazing home cooked spread with equally interesting conversation. This lead to a husband suggesting our next visit should be for a cookery course!! The only downside to the day was that the weather turned after tea and was far too wet for either us or the Alpaca to go out to play. I am sure we shall all be back at some point for fibre, yarn or to just enjoy these wonderful animals. Thank you for making us so welcome

Just received my fantastic alpaca woolover from Robin and Caroline. I am ecstatic, it is soft, light to wear, and so warm. It is in brown/cream with an argyle pattern on the front. Just a tip when ordering from afar, it is better to order quoting the measurements, i.e. chest measurement from under the sleeve and from top to bottom at the back, rather than size as the latter can be so different from country to country, the size of the knit/yarn can change it also or so my wife tells me. Excellently knitted garment, we wear impressed with the neck and waist band. What a super friendly pair are Robin and Caroline. Highly recommend them to anyone, service and advice excellent!

Well its nearly 2 years since we purchased our beautiful girls Primrose, Praline, and Patience and at the time patience was certainly what Caroline and Robin needed because it was so hard choosing from so many lovely alpacas. 2 years on and we now have 3 absolutely adorable babies (cria)of our own, two boys and a little girl. Caroline and Robin are such lovely people and nothing is too much trouble for them, even ringing them at silly o'clock to ask advice about a wet through cria born in the pouring rain, they are only too pleased to advise, and just as excited for us about our new additions. Their continued support is invaluable to us . If you are thinking about having alpacas in your life, then WhyNot Alpacas is the place to visit .Thank you both, Colin and Tracey Pack.

Thank you for the great personal service. It was lovely to feel such confidence that my scarves and wrist warmers would arrive with time to spare. They are lovely; so soft and exactly right.

What a fantastic afternoon we had at the Blooming Great Tea Party on Sunday.
Despite a rather soggy start to proceedings, our congenial hosts made every effort to ensure everyone had a good time and to raise as much money as possible for Marie Curie. As well as splendid cream teas, we were kept on our toes with a treasure hunt, splat the rat and a raffle.
The four legged hosts were equally accommodating with the proud new Mums parading their new offspring on the lawn. Our adopted ray of sunshine, Fereva, looked blooming in the latter stages of her pregnancy.
However the stars of the show for this event had to be last year's youngsters - The strapping "Q" Boys, who took part in an alpaca derby.
Unfortunately, like many premiership footballers, their new found celebrity status did appear to go to their heads; Much adulation was enjoyed before, after and DURING the race - so much so that the "Q" boys forgot it was a race and ran over to the cheering crowd to revel in the adulation.
A highly amusing afternoon was had by all and the princely sum of £600 was raised for a very good cause.
Thank you to all hosts, both two legged and four legged, for a great time!
