Yorkshire Alpaca Group's Thirsk Show
Yorkshire Alpaca Group Show, 15th October 2011
This was an excellent and very well organised Show, held at Thirsk Auction Mart in North Yorkshire.
There was an impressive attendance, by both Alpaca breeders and General Public; and before the Judge, Tim Hey, who, as always, worked tirelessly and did a magnificent job, were some very high quality Alpacas. For this the organisers are to be warmly congratulated.

WhyNot Alpacas enjoyed a very satisfactory day in enhancing its reputation for sales of Pets, by winning the very strong classes, judged by the ringside Public, for both the Handsomest Boy (Pebble) and the Prettiest Girl (Polyana), splendidly led up, respectively, by Jack (10) and Ella (6) Dorrington, whose parents, Alan and Margaret, are amongst our most loyal and longstanding Livery customers. This was a wonderful outcome, so far as we were all concerned, and gave everyone a great boost.

Meantime, Robin was happy to provide the commentary ~ his fourth this year, following the Northumberland Show, the Westmorland County Show and the World Sheepdog Trials. The main objective here is to introduce and interest the General Public to/in Alpacas. Alpaca audiences at Shows have been growing pleasingly over the past few years; and Robin is becoming a little worried that some of those listening at ringside probably know a good deal more about the job than he does! Nevertheless, it's important to keep spreading the word; and, anyway, all the most technical information is usually supplied, after each class, by the Judge.
